December Update
Summary
A lot is happening in the Kerith House world but one of the most exciting things is that the vineyard is taking shape !
As you can see above, the posts for the trellis system are coming along. Every one had to be mapped out by our vintner, Scott, with the help of the hubs and second son, Asher. Installation would have been a full-time job for these guys so we have hired a very capable crew to do it for us.
Here is a glimpse of the upstairs of the winery. We estimate it will hold about 60 people, perfect for special celebrations and small weddings. The drywall has been primed and the cabinets are underway.
We are wrapping up our markets for 2024. You can still find all of our Farmstead products on our shop along with lots of home goods.
Speaking of the Farmstead, we have added a new flavor to our collection: Red Wine Drizzle. We developed it right before Thanksgiving so it was added to our feast. With the smoked turkey it was so good!
Over the weekend, our third crop of garlic was planted. It was in the 30’s and the hubs and son had the brunt of the job. Unfortunately, the seed we had grown did not survive the hot summer in the barn so as usual, we will pivot. But we had some beautiful seed we had purchased including a new variety.
We are also in the stage of thinking through details such as, what will the wine flights look like, what glasses should we buy, and what food will we be offering? Fun stuff!
We hope to spend some good quality time with the family over the holidays. But there will still be no shortage of sawdust, graph paper designs, prototypes, and internet searches to get this project over the finish line.
