The very first project I taught through Chics With Tools was a centerpiece made from pallet wood and test tubes. That was 2 1/2 years ago. I love mine and use it all the time like today, for instance. After a week, my Valentine roses were looking a bit sad so I trimmed off the leaves, the bottom of the stems, and removed some of the browning petals. That made them perfect for this centerpiece.

Our home is pretty over-the-top when it comes to Christmas decorations. Not that we needed one more thing, but I made yet another wreath. This time it was for Child #3 who thought he should have a wreath on his door. Since I wanted to show you how I make wreaths, I thought I would use the opportunity to show you. 

My friend, Christie, had had this traditional side table for quite a while. But its leg had broken and the repair was failing. So instead of taking to the thrift store or leaving it on the curb, she decided to pass it on to me to see what I could do with it. I did not need one more project but I couldn't resist. I also knew that the makeover was going to be pretty simple so I wouldn't have to spend much time on it.
